Awesome Wednesday!

The Wright Museum might as well be the most interesting and creative museums I have ever gone to. The enthusiasm and acting of the guides made the experience seem almost real! My favorite part of the visit to the museum was probably the dome in the entrance which provided an echo. From the exhibition, my favorite section was the music picture gallery despite the abscence of Michael Jackson.

Work on Wednesday

Although we didn't have to sit in a classroom today, we still have work to do. Tomorrow, we all have our Deloitte presentations and we're trying hard to perfect our presentations. Just now, I'm listening to my roommate David practice for his presentation on Google Android. If it were just him presenting Google Android, I would buy the new device. Now, let's see if his group can help him close out his presentation.

Tuesday Marketing!

Today I really enjoyed a class about the roles that marketers play in putting a product out to consumers, and the factors that play into that. Professor Gershoff was the one to teach the class in an engaging way, speaking about price, product, place, and promotion, and really introduced new and interesting ideas about the way that businesses try and get our attentions as consumers, using the "starbucks" example, which i found pretty humorous! Later, representatives from Capital One came, and spoke to us about a little of the history of the company, and how it turned into a bank, and although the presentation was a bit slow moving at first, I am glad to say that at the end of it, i really did learn a little bit about credit cards and the way that a marketer must thing when directing a product or service (such as a credit card) to the public. Now my group and I are about to finish a presentation we are presenting to Deloitte!

Capitalizing CapitalOne

Today my fellow LEADers and I had the privilege of having two representatives from CapitalOne visit. They gave us an overview of the company's innerworkings, a history of credit cards, and held a competition in which we were all divided in teams and each team was employed to design a new credit card marketed to teens. The teams had to work out all of the logistics: annual membership fees, interest rates...the works! My team won (go team #7!) and although the dufflebag we won was a great prize, the lessons we learned were invaluable!

Tomorrow is our trip to Ford and the Charles H. Wright Museum; I can't wait!

Future Noogler

Future Noogler: that is what I am going to be!
The visit to Google took me by surprise; Google is nothing like what I expected...it was better! After the visit I learned that that corporation is an ideal place to work in since they treat their employees so well (I'm sure that similarly, Google asks a lot from them also!)
I believe that their approach in regards to their workforce and the treaty Google gives them is creative and extremely effective...Perhaps, as future entrepreneurs, we should look up to Google in that respect...

Friday

Friday was a very interseting and fun day. Although we had to dress business casual, going to the Google office here in Ann Arbor, Michigan was cool. I've been to the Google office in New York and the two offices are a lot alike. I found the game room in Google's New York office to be a lot more interesting. Many would believe that it's because I am from New York, but instead it is because the New York office had a lot more stuff such as a foosball table, ping-pong table, pool table, and an air hockey table. Who knows maybe it is because I'm biased.

The ride that never stops

This past weekend has been so great! Going to Cedar Point on saturday and visiting Google on friday was a really good ending to the week! Having talks with people in the real world are helping me to realize that to get somewhere, there is a combination of skills needed to succeed, whether it ties in with networking, team work, or having well rounded life experience.
