Tuesday Marketing!
Today I really enjoyed a class about the roles that marketers play in putting a product out to consumers, and the factors that play into that. Professor Gershoff was the one to teach the class in an engaging way, speaking about price, product, place, and promotion, and really introduced new and interesting ideas about the way that businesses try and get our attentions as consumers, using the "starbucks" example, which i found pretty humorous! Later, representatives from Capital One came, and spoke to us about a little of the history of the company, and how it turned into a bank, and although the presentation was a bit slow moving at first, I am glad to say that at the end of it, i really did learn a little bit about credit cards and the way that a marketer must thing when directing a product or service (such as a credit card) to the public. Now my group and I are about to finish a presentation we are presenting to Deloitte!

I totally agree that Professor Gershoff was really engaging and an effective teacher. =] It was especially funny to hear the whole Starbucks-size rant.
ReplyDeleteCapitalOne was also very interesting. I thought it was really cool how they used proper business practices and avoided trouble--it really tied in to the earlier discussion on ethics.
